My new Razr & Lapdock

For all of you who have been effected by Tropical Strom Debby, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

On a more positive note, I decided to upgrade my Verizon DroidX2 phone to the Razr. I am luckily grandfathered into a older unlimited data plan on my phone and to keep current plan and get a new phone at an affordable contract price I had to do it by today because as of 6/28 Verizon will be launching a new plan that will force people to change their plan if the upgrade their phone. This is not good for people like myself who have unlimited. So besides that reason I also wanted to upgrade my phone as I wanted  the Motorola Lapdock 100! (This device only works with the razer series.) Since the device uses your phone and its data plan to run it, I now have unlimited Internet now :)  My  kids have been running up my wifi and now I can allow them to use this instead to play learning games like free hangman, nick jr., facebook, etc... They can also watch movies and even do their online school work; even when we are traveling!!! The lapdock is pretty cheap at only $200, much cheaper IMO then a laptop $-)   So far I am loving it, the only thing I wish is that it was bigger as it is only 10 inches. They do have a 15 inch option for $300, but price was an issue so I opted for the smaller one. If you have a razer or can buy one and have the unlimited data or even if you don't I would get this device. Also they have different $50 lapdock available, but only for the Bionic phone.
Until next time...

Summer is here!

Well, it's official! Summer had started!

Seems like just yesterday it was Christmas and now it is summer time. We have defiantly been enjoying the warmer weather.

I have some good news to share. I have completed my Psychology class with an A! It is so weird to me how fast this semester has flew by, but I am so glad too! The faster I get my classes done, the faster I will be done all together. However, I am not done with all of my studies. I still have 5 more classes I plan to take online over the coming up Fall and Spring semesters. Then I will be able to take my program when I finish all of my general education classes :)

On other news my poor niece is having some major math anxiety. She has been struggling this past year learning Algebra, but thankfully this coming up school year she will be trading in her books for some online algebra lessons!  I really can feel her pain as I myself was just recently in her shoes.

Anyways, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. Until next time...

It's a Bug!

Whew! This past couple of days  has sure been rough on me :( I am recovering from a pretty bad stomach bug. Ugh! It has been a loooonnnggg time since I have been this ill. In all honesty probably before I began starting a blog. I will not lie, I am not the best patient, especially if I am nauseous! Give me a cold any day, but  a stomach bug, No! Thank you! The Good news is I am at the end of the misery. Yes! It has been 3 horrible days since I have seen the light of day or left the bathroom (TMI? sorry!) Illness does however, have positives. For one you realise how good it is to feel healthy! You start to miss the humdrum of cleaning, cooking, shopping, & yes! Homeschooling. I am ready to be better, so I can start  living my life again. I feel renewed in a sense...

~> I hope that I am the only one who has been going through this, but if not, I hope everyone else who knows the horror a stomach bug can put you through is feel better too!

So, I am going to end here and go get some much needed rest!

Just my weekly update

Hi Everyone!
So, the past couple of days have been pretty busy for us. My daughter just finished up her Softball season ( All the girls on her team did so well! ) They celebrated with a pool party at a local public pool. This was the first time I had every been or taken my kids to a public pool. Now yes, we have went to water parks, hotel pools and the campground's pool that we have stayed at and I guess technically those are public, but I mean like a city's public pool where you pay so much a person to swim. I had imagined all kinds of things, not sure why I thought it would not be nice? When we got there I was pleasantly surprised! It was really, really nice ;) Kids had a blast! And I had a good time my self. It made me wish I would have taken advantage of these public pools sooner. I will defiantly, from now on, check into public pools along our travels.

I also took both of my kids for haircuts. They were both in need! My daughter wanted it super short! A chin length bob. I think the heat of the summer is getting to her as my son and me! My son also got his hair cut pretty short ( I like the messy med short surfer look for him, but today he got a big boy very short cut) ~>I am also considering hacking off my hair.. It is pretty long, mid way down my back, but again like my kids the heat is getting to much and the thought of short hair is so nice.. Just kinda scared, never had short hair before ((blush)) lol!

On the Homeschooling front, not too terribly much this week. My niece however, has been swamped with work! My sister, her mother, tells me she is getting ready for end of year testing! ( she homeschools as well, but her family does testing where as I do teacher evaluations) She has been really stressing over the essay writing for standardized tests she has to do. I can relate since I just finished my English comp class for college... This is why I prefer evaluations over testing, just less stressful IMO. However, I can also see why some choose to use standardized tests.

Anyways, that's about all that has been going on this past week, until next time,
Happy Homeschooling!
